Run the draw

The draw is reproducible: the same seed always produces the same result. Pick a seed nobody can rig — total goals on opening day, a Lotto number, or just do it live on a call. Then anyone can type the seed in and confirm it wasn't fiddled. (Solves the 4-years-ago problem.)

Tip: agree the seed in the group chat before running it, so everyone knows it was honest.

Players

One name per line. Needs 24 to hand out all teams cleanly. Edit if someone drops out, then re-run the draw.

Pool stage

All 12 groups with their real fixtures. Type each scoreline as games finish — standings, win/draw points and goal tallies update automatically and feed straight into the scoreboard. Group stage runs 11–27 June.

▮ Green = top two (auto-qualify)  ·  ▮ Gold = 3rd (8 best 3rd-placed teams also advance to the Round of 32).

Knockout results

Once the bracket is set, record each knockout match here: pick the round and the two teams, enter the score (and who won on penalties if drawn). The winner is advanced automatically, so each team's furthest stage — and its points — stays correct without you tracking the bracket by hand.

Leaderboard

Score = your strong team + your wildcard team, both updating live from the results you record. Ties break on combined goals scored.

Scoring

Both your teams earn points and they add together. Scoring is cumulative — a team banks points each round it survives, so a deep wildcard run can win you the whole thing.

Round of 32+3
Round of 16+5
Quarters+12

Bonuses stack: a team that reaches the semis keeps its pool points + R32 + R16 + quarters, then adds the semi bonus. The big jumps sit on the quarters, semis and final — the rounds worth sweating over. Tie on points? Whoever's two teams scored more goals wins; still level, split it.

Prize split — R6 000 pot

Spread across the top finishers so nobody checks out early, plus a wildcard prize to keep the second-team chase alive.

Running it

  • Confirm the 24 players and collect R250 each before kickoff on 11 June — banker holds the pot.
  • Agree the draw seed in the group chat, run the draw, then share the result + seed so anyone can verify it.
  • Lock teams once the draw is shared — no swaps after the first match.
  • Record scores in Fixtures & Results as games finish; the scoreboard updates itself. Drop a leaderboard screenshot in the chat each round.
  • Wildcard pool note: South Africa sit in tier 2 and open the tournament vs Mexico — good early drama for whoever draws them.
